Leila Makarechi, the COO and SVP of Program Management at Microclinic International, spoke at TEDxColumbiaSIPA on February 15, 2013 at Columbia University in New York. In her talk titled “Contagious Health” Makarechi speaks about the how 75% of the world’s population will die of chronic diseases, and what steps we can take to improve the behaviors of our social networks to reduce the impact of chronic diseases. Makarechi outlines in her talk how the microclinic model can promote healthy behaviors and make them contagious and enhance a community’s overall health and well-being.
