(San Francisco, CA) 6 December 2011: Call for Applications for MCI Research Post

Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Global Health Research, Policy, and Practice

An experienced and meticulous Postdoctoral Research Fellow is needed to work with the Principal Investigator and research team at Microclinic International (MCI), a US-based non-profit organization dedicated to preventing and managing major chronic disease epidemics in under-resourced communities. MCI works through a process of translational research. We design public health programs, which we evaluate and refine to create scalable global health solutions. We aim to publish our research findings and influence global health policy and practice. MCI currently works in the Middle East, South Asia, sub-Saharan African, and the United States. Learn more about MCI at https://microclinics.org

We’re seeking a candidate with a doctoral qualification (ScD/PhD/DPhil) focusing on biostatistics, epidemiology, social epidemiology, social networking analysis, or another related field area. We’re looking for a highly-motivated candidate who excels in a fast-paced work environment. The candidate will collaborate with MCI’s research team, and should also be able to work independently and efficiently to advance MCI’s contributions to global health research, policy, and practice. Prospective applicants should be skilled in program management, proficient in advanced statistical analysis (e.g. multi-level modeling), and gifted in writing.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of other research activities, offer innovative research strategies to the organization, and help coordinate the process of preparing and analyzing data. As MCI is focused on bridging the gaps between research, policy, and practice, mentorship for researchers who are primarily interested in pursuing a tenure-track academic career will not be provided. Residence in the San Francisco Bay Area/Northern California is strongly preferred.
